Os primeiros passos para novidades sobre o possível acordo podem ser dados a partir da próxima semana, quando a diretoria do Timão vai, de fato, dar o início no planejamento para 2022.

O estafe do Corinthians já trabalha há algum tempo visando a próxima temporada, mas agora, com o fim do Brasileirão na última quinta-feira (9), as ações de montagem do grupo para o ano que vem serão tomadas.

Logo após o último jogo do Timão na temporada, contra o Juventude, em Caxias do Sul, o diretor de futebol corintiano Roberto de Andrade garantiu a manutenção do técnico Sylvinho e disse que na próxima terça-feira (14) haverá uma entrevista coletiva ao lado do Gerente de Futebol Alessandro Nunes. A expectativa é que o planejamento para 2022 seja abordado.

Paulinho esteve no radar do Corinthians para esta temporada, no meio do ano, mas optou jogar no Al Ahli. Contudo, após somente dois meses e quatro jogos disputados o atleta rescindiu amigavelmente com a equipe árabe, alegando problemas pessoais.

Com a camisa corintiana, Paulinho jogou entre 2010 e 2013, disputou 167 jogos, marcou 34 gols e conquistou quatro títulos:Campeonato Brasileiro de 2011, Libertadores e Mundial de 2012 e Paulistão de 2013.

Regardless of when I do pull up stumps, I still feel like I can play domestic cricket, I still love playing for my country and I still love playing for Central Districts as well.”Taylor’s T20I future, however, is uncertain after he had been dropped from that side during New Zealand’s last home summer and was asked to prove his form and fitness in the Super Smash for the Central Stags. Chelsea centre-forward Nicolas Jackson continued his impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign with two goals against West Ham United on Saturday. The Senegal international, who scored 14 goals in the Premier League last season, has produced four goals and two assists in five league matches for the Blues this term.

He looks to be undroppable on current form due to his sublime output in the final third, with the likes of Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho, and Cole Palmer providing him with quality service.

However, the former Villarreal star’s superb goalscoring start to the season has not stopped the club from eyeing up a new striker ahead of the January transfer window.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are planning to add another centre-forward to Enzo Maresca’s squad after the turn of the year, despite Jackson’s form.

The report claims that the club are in contact with Victor Osimhen’s agent and are considering a move for the Nigeria international, who is currently on loan with Galatasaray in Turkey, but are also eyeing up an alternative option instead. Indeed, the Blues are interested in signing Sporting sensation Viktor Gyokeres as an alternative to the Napoli loanee in January.

The outlet reveals that the Sweden international, who has a €100m (£84m) release clause in his contract, is on their wish list of striker targets and is being monitored closely by the club, as he continues to shine in Portugal. The report believes the Blues could well make a serious move for the former Coventry star if they do not go through with a move for Osimhen.

It remains to be seen, though, whether or not Chelsea would be prepared to pay the former Coventry star’s £84m release clause, or if they would look to negotiate a lower fee.

Why Chelsea should sign Gyokeres instead of Osimhen

Viktor or Victor is the question for the Blues ahead of the January transfer window and there is a genuine case for the Swedish version to be the smart choice. The 26-year-old star already has experience in England, with Brighton, Swansea, and Coventry, and may not need as much time to adapt to the physicality of English football, as well as living in the country.

Gyokeres’ form for Sporting also suggests that the potential is there for him to be a better option than Osimhen. He has already racked up a staggering ten goals in six league games this season, compared to the Nigerian forward’s zero goals in two league outings.

As you can see in the table above, an end product monster, he also outperformed the Napoli man at league level during the 2023/24 campaign, with 14 more goals and seven more assists.

Whilst it is difficult to gauge the difference in quality between the Portuguese and Italian top-flights, these statistics do show that the £84m-rated star has been in prolific form and would arrive high on confidence, whereas Osimhen is still looking for his first goal of the campaign.

Curran made 94, his highest List A score, while Vasconcelos contributed 88 to set the hosts on course for a big total.With the middle order upping the momentum with some aggressive hitting, Northamptonshire posted a formidable 305 for 6 in a match reduced to 46 overs a side due to rain.Somerset’s top order got bogged down against some disciplined bowling in reply and fell rapidly behind the run rate as they lost four wickets in seven overs. Lewis Goldsworthy though, with an aggressive 80 from just 61 balls, threatened an unlikely revival. He followed a career-best 96 at the Oval on Thursday with a series of cleanly struck blows in a partnership of 120 with skipper Josh Davey (53). Ultimately though, when Goldsworthy was out hit wicket after standing on his stumps, the visitors were left with too much to do.The result topped a special day for Northamptonshire players, fans and past players who gathered to celebrate the life of legendary allrounder David Capel who died last year. Maresca was up front to the press about England international duo Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell over the summer transfer window, admitting at the time that they may be forced to find a new club, as their game-time would be limited under him.

“Brutal? I don’t think so. I try to be honest,” said Maresca on Sterling and Chilwell’s futures at Chelsea in August.

“I can repeat again if it’s not clear: I spoke with Raheem before the City game. I said he is going to struggle to get minutes with us and this is the reason why he is out of the squad. With Chilly, I said he is a lovely guy, but he is going to struggle because of his position. He is going to struggle. If you define this as brutal, it’s up to you to decide. For me, it’s not brutal, it’s just honest.”

Since then, Sterling has sealed a season-long loan move to Arsenal, with Chilwell still at Chelsea but likely to leave in January. Elsewhere in the squad, a trio of other players have been linked with the Stamford Bridge exit door in 2025.

Chelsea are ready to sell Benoit Badiashile, who is yet to make a single appearance this season, with fellow Frenchman Axel Disasi also not part of Maresca’s plans.

Mykhailo Mudryk could be forced to quit Chelsea in the winter too, as uncertainty surrounds the Ukraine star’s future and BlueCo weigh up potential replacements like Veliz Sarsfield winger Thiago Fernandez.

These names don’t come as much of a surprise given their lack of inclusion so far this season, but Chelsea have since adopted a head-turning stance on one of their mainstay players.

Marc Cucurella no longer part of Chelsea's long-term plans

According to a report in The Boot Room this week, £175,000-per-week defender Marc Cucurella could be shown the door as well.

Indeed, it is believed Cucurella is no longer part of Chelsea’s long-term plans, with the indication being he could eventually be sold alongside the likes of Chilwell and Badiashile as Maresca’s side eye up a move for AC Milan star Theo Hernandez.

The Spain international, who impressed at Euro 2024 for the eventual champions, has started every single Premier League match so far and put in some solid displays at full-back in place of Chilwell.

This report therefore comes as quite a shock when factoring in just how often he’s been utilised by Maresca so far, not to mention how the Italian has praised his left-back as a key asset.

“Marc [Cucurella] is very important,” said Maresca on Cucurella very recently.

“Marc has something that you sometimes struggle to find in players. He is good and he is making the players around him good because he is a guy who is always talking, always demanding. If you can have five, six or seven players like Marc in your team, who are always talking about improving the rest, it’s very important. So I’m very happy with Marc.”

Por falar nos goleiros, os mesmos participaram de uma atividade com o elenco, em que era necessário dar toques rápidos e se deslocar em velocidade, ilustrando que o novo comandante exige boa capacidade de construção com os pés de um camisa 1, tido por Sousa como essencial em seu modelo de jogo.

Paulo Sousaconversou com o trio de atacantes Gabigol, Bruno Henrique e Pedro e deu orientações com o auxílio de uma lousa tática, inclusive, para explanar os seus métodos e ideias de jogo quanto à fase ofensiva.

Na entrevista coletiva, Sousa chegou a comentar sobre a possiblidade dos três atuarem juntos no comando de ataque:

-Temos três avançados muito fortes. Mesmo na seleção (Polônia), integrei três atacantes em vários jogos. Penso também em fazer isso em vários jogos desde o início, trabalhando com uma ideia comum e clara

O Flamengo ainda não definiu quando Paulo Sousa estreará com o time titular na temporada. Nos primeiros jogos do Carioca, a equipe será comandada por Fabio Matias, cujo grupo alternativo tem treinadoà parte – ou em outro período, o que não ocorreu nesta manhã, em que ocorreu treino no campo 4 do Ninho.
