Daniel Pinder, the editor-in-chief of Get German Football News, has told Football FanCast that he has been impressed with on-loan Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

The Nigerian striker joined the Reds six years ago but is yet to make his first-team debut for Liverpool and has spent the previous seven seasons out on loan.

The most recent of those loan spells was in Germany with Union Berlin, where he scored five goals and laid on three assists in just 21 Bundesliga appearances.

A muscle problem saw Awoniyi restricted to just two substitute outings in the final three months of Union Berlin’s season, but the 23-year-old has emerged as a target for West Brom, who’ve recently got rid of both Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu and are looking to bolster their strike department.

Awoniyi has gained valuable experienece in Belgium and Holland over recent seasons but is yet to make a competitive appearance in English football, but is expected to be allowed to leave Liverpool, even with more than two years running on his Anfield contract.

Pinder told Football FanCast:

“He was on loan at Mainz last season, went back to Liverpool and how he is Union Berlin. He’s a player that has really impressed me.

“Five goals and three assists, and that run of five goals came across seven games, but then he picked up an injury and hasn’t been the same since.

“But he’s a player that puts himself around the box – he’s tall, strong, wins those aerial battles and holds onto the ball well and brings in his teammates.”

وأردف: “لم نتحدث عن مباراة الأهلي التي سنستضيفها بالجولة الخامسة، وننتظر موقف المجموعة ومن المبكر الحديث عن اللقاء كونها ستقام يوم 18 من الشهر الجاري”.

وأكمل: “منذ بداية مرحلة المجموعات نعاني من غيابات عديدة في صفوف الفريق ومؤثرة، مثل أمير كمال وبدر ومحمد الرشيد تعرض لإصابة في أخر لحظة ولدينا صلاح نمر الذي أصيب مع المنتخب في كأس أمم إفريقيا ولكنهم أصبحوا على درجة من الجاهزية قبل لقاء الأهلي”.

وأشار: “المريخ في معسكر طويل بالقاهرة، وتم تأجيل مباريات الفريق في الدوري السوداني وهذا هو الأفضل لنا خلال الفترة الحالية خاصة في الظروف الأمنية وأزمة الملاعب الأخيرة”.

وبسؤاله عن أفضل لاعبي الأهلي؟، أجاب: “الأهلي جميع لاعبيه مميزين وهناك أفشة على سبيل المثال لاعب مميز والجميع يكن له ألف حساب رغم عدم مشاركته في المباريات بالكامل”.

Former Newcastle United star Keith Gillespie believes that Mike Ashley will be satisfied with a 17th-placed finish for the club next season, in an exclusive interview with Football FanCast.

The club looked to be in serious danger of dropping out of the Premier League just a few weeks ago, but eight points from their previous four matches has seen them move eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Nevertheless, Gillespie believes that Newcastle’s owner is fine with the club repeatedly surviving by the skin of their teeth.

In a way it’s lucky that Steve Bruce’s men got those points on the board as they now face Arsenal, Leicester City and Manchester City, before bringing the curtain down on their campaign with clashes against Fulham and Sheffield United.

And Gillespie thinks that Ashley is currently reaping what he has sown, with their current struggles a result of a general lack of investment in the squad at St James’ Park, and he insists the owner has absolutely no ambition, but he remains hopeful the club will progress, potentially under a new manager.

Speaking exclusively to FFC, the former Magpies winger said: “Absolutely. That is an owner of a club with no ambition, happy to finish 17th every year. That’s not what fans need.

“Newcastle are a club that have experienced Champions League football in the past. They’re a million miles away now. You just want an owner to come in and push the club forward because the club is stood still, going backwards at times.

“They haven’t invested in the squad as well, like other clubs have. If you don’t do that, you’re going to fall behind and you’re going to be in relegation battles.”

Plenty of Leicester City fans have been reacting to a transfer update regarding Cengiz Under on social media.

According to the reliable John Percy of The Telegraph, the Foxes won’t exercise their option of making the 23-year-old’s deal at the King Power sTADIUM permanent in the summer.

Under, who arrived on loan from Roma last year, could have joined on a full-time basis for a fee in excess of £20m. However, his performances haven’t justified that price tag, and it seems as if the Turkish forward will return to Italy in the summer.

He has made 19 appearances under Brendan Rodgers this season, scoring twice and registering three assists. Under has been out through injury since March and has started just one Premier League game all season.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City look to have been handed a significant boost ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund, with Jadon Sancho reportedly set to miss the tie through injury.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the England international will likely miss the game at the Etihad later this week after missing training ahead of the game through injury.

The 21-year-old sensation has been sidelined since March through injury and wasn’t fit enough to earn a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad during the recent international break.

Interim manager Edin Terzic has suggested that they are hoping to have the winger back in the near future but hinted that the game on Tuesday would come too soon for him, although he could make his comeback ahead of the return leg at Signal Iduna Park later this month.

Sancho has been in sensational form for BVB once again this season, contributing six goals and nine assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances this season, resulting in a superb average rating of 7.57/10.

This is enough to rank him as Dortmund’s best performer in the German top-flight so far this season, ahead of Erling Haaland, so it is undoubtedly a boost for Guardiola’s side that he seemingly won’t be available for the first leg.

It also would have been the first time Sancho would have faced the club he was at as a youngster, having left the Etihad in 2017 due to a lack of first-team opportunities at the club, so he definitely would have wanted to be fit to play against Guardiola’s side in the hope that he could emphasise what they missed out on.

The young winger has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in world football during his time in the Bundesliga and earned himself a lot of praise from German legend Lothar Matthaus back in 2019, as he said:

“He’s a natural footballer. A player who has everything: fantastic speed, great technique, a good eye for his colleagues and that key pass. For me, he is a perfect player.”

Therefore, it is clear that Sancho would have been one of Dortmund’s biggest threats to City at the Etihad on Tuesday if he were fit, so it is a massive boost to Guardiola’s chances of steering his side to a win in the first leg that he has now seemingly been ruled out.

Jogando no Castelão, o time da casa não conseguiu furar o bloqueio montado pelos catarinenses e desperdiçaram a chance de ir para a vice-liderança do Campeonato Brasileiro da Série B. Vozão chegou ao sexto jogo seguido sem vitória.

Com o empate deste domingo, o Vozão deixou escapar a oportunidade de ir para a segunda colocação e entrar no G-4. Equipe cearense está em quinto, com 38 pontos conquistados. Catarinenses estão em 12º, com 30.

Bill bateu de esquerda e obrigou Renan a fazer grande defesa para evitar o gol. O Avaí respondeu com Lucas Coelho, de cabeça, após cruzamento de Marquinhos. Rômulo ainda tentou duas vezes antes do intervalo, porém sem sucesso.

O Ceará voltou para a etapa final assustando com Rafael Costa e o Avaí deu o troco com Rômulo, mas a bola subiu demais. A situação dos catarinenses piorou aos 27 minutos com a expulsão de Fábio Sanches. Serginho quase abriu o placar para o Ceará cobrando falta. Serginho também soltou a bomba e colocou Renan para trabalhar.

O Avaí mesmo com um a menos ficou perto de marcar aos 36 minutos do segundo tempo. Depois do rebote do goleiro, Tatá encheu o pé e mandou por cima. O Ceará ainda tentou pressionar nos instantes finais, porém a bola insistia em não entrar. Antes do fim, Bill ainda foi expulso por reclamar com o árbitro da partida.

If there was a game which summed up West Brom’s Premier League season, the 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon was the perfect snapshot.

Sam Allardyce’s side were in desperate need of a victory to keep their slim survival hopes alive, but proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot by conceding a penalty and then limply try to cause Palace problems down the end – the visitors managed just one shots on target in the entire game.

One man who really let his manager down was Conor Gallagher.

The £9m-rated man on loan from Chelsea just couldn’t seem to get his foot on the ball and control things for the Baggies in the middle of the park, and he was far too sloppy with his passing – in fact, he lost possession 18 times over the course of the game, the third-most of any West Brom player on the day.

He was also overpowered by the likes of Luka Milivojevic and Jairo Riedewald in the engine room, losing eight out of his ten total duels, which was the worst of any Baggies player.

Given that Crystal Palace came into the game as the team boasting the fourth-lowest average possession figure of any Premier League side, it was the perfect opportunity for Gallagher to run the game.

Instead, he just looked off the pace, and it was no surprise that he came in for some criticism after the match for his performance.

In his post-match player ratings for the Birmingham Mail, Joseph Chapman wrote: “Tried his hardest, even when things weren’t coming off. Had a couple of openings that either found the stand or a blue and red shirt in their way. Willing as ever but the quality of his passing let him down on too many occasions.”

In a game where West Brom needed their players to step up, Gallagher – among others – just couldn’t rise to the occasion and he let his manager and fans down big time.

Many Manchester United fans were left to slam the display of Fred in their 0-0 away draw at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men really struggled to break the South London club down at all and in the end had to settle for a point, which meant that they lost further ground on their local rivals Manchester City in the title race and will now surely be looking more over their shoulders than in front of them.

Fred’s performance in particular flattered to deceive several members of the Old Trafford faithful, as the central midfield player lost out on no fewer than eight of his duels in the game, while also failing to record a single clearance and losing possession of the ball eight times, earning him a quite measly 6.6 overall rating on Sofascore, the second-lowest out of any of his teammates to have started the match.

أعلن ائتلاف “إنكار الذات”، برئاسة المهندس سامح فهمي، خوض انتخابات الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم القادمة.

ويتولي إدارة اتحاد الكرة في الوقت الحالي لجنة ثلاثية برئاسة أحمد مجاهد، معينة من قبل الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا”، بعد رحيل اللجنة الخماسية التي ترأسها عمرو الجنايني واستقالة مجلس إدارة الجبلاية برئاسة هاني أبو ريدة عقب خروج منتخب مصر من كأس أمم إفريقيا 2019.

وقرر اتحاد الكرة عقد الجمعية العمومية العادية للاتحاد يوم 5 يناير المقبل لاختيار مجلس إدارة جديد للاتحاد عن طريق الانتخاب، ودعوة 129 ناديًا لحضور الاجتماع تمثل الجمعية العمومية.

بعد سلسلة من الإجتماعات التي ترأسها المهندس سامح فهمي رئيس ائتلاف قائمة إنكار الذات وحضرها خمسة وعشرون عضواً من أعضاء الائتلاف لوضع السياسات المتعلقة بإعادة صياغة منظومة كرة القدم وتطويرها طبقاً لأحدث ما وصلت إليه الدول المتقدمة في صناعة كرة القدم، وذلك بوضع السياسات العامة والخطط المستقبلية خلال الدورة الجديدة لاتحاد كرة القدم بداية من الدورة 2021/2022 وما بعدها، وقد اتفق الحاضرون على:

أولاً: توقيع ميثاق شرف مُلزم لجميع أعضاء الإئتاف سيتم عرضه في المؤتمر الصحفي للإئتلاف.

ثانياً: إعلاء المصلحة العامة وعلى وجه الخصوص في مجال كرة القدم بأن يكون هذا الإئتلاف معني بشئون كرة القدم ويتم من خلاله إختيار العناصر التي ستقود قائمة إنكار الذات لخوض انتخابات الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم بداية من الدورة 2021/2022 وما بعدها.

ثالثاً: أن يكون أهم أهداف هذا التكتل هو وضع خطة وإستراتيجية للنهوض بكرة القدم المصرية بما يتسق مع سياسة الدولة وإستعدادها لإستضافة بطولات قارية وعالمية مثل أوليمبياد 2036 وكأس العالم 2030 ودورة الألعاب الإفريقية 2027، والإستعداد لإستضافة تلك المناسبات بصورة تليق بمكانة مصر في الجمهورية الجديدة وكذلك النهوض بالمنتخبات الوطنية والتحكيم المصري والعمل على تنمية موارد الإتحاد من أجل دعم جميع الأندية في جميع الأقسام وإنشاء روابط لأندية القسم الثاني والثالث لتحقيق نجاحات تحاكي ما تقوم به رابطة أندية الدوري الممتاز.

رابعاً: يرحب الإئتلاف بانضمام كل المهتمين بتطوير كرة القدم المصرية من أعضاء الجمعية العمومية أو الكوادر الرياضية المهتمة بكرة القدم التي نتطع إليها جميعاً.

وقد تم الإتفاق في هذه الجلسة على أسماء المرشحين عن الائتلاف بقائمة تضم المهندس سامح فهمي رئيساً، اللواء مجدي اللوزي نائباً للرئيس، وعضوية الأستاذ محمد الطويلة، النائب محمود حسين، الكابتن أحمد حسن، المهندس ماجد نجاتي، المهندس عدلي القيعي، المستشار حسين عبده، الدكتورة رانيا علواني لمقعد المرأة بالقائمة.

وسوف يعقد الائتلاف مؤتمراً صحفياً في يوم الغد “الإثنين” في تمام الساعة الثالثة عصراً بعد تقديم أوراق الإتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، يتم فيه عرض السياسات الخاصة بتطوير كرة القدم المصرية بخطة طويلة الأجل لمدة خمسة وعشرون عاماً، كما سيتم الإعلان عن باقي أعضاء الائتلاف.
